Evening entertainment is a welcomed distraction for our families whose days revolve around hospital wards. Can you volunteer your talents to entertain our families and take their minds off their stresses and strains for a while?

Ideas include:
  • Music and bands
  • Children’s entertainment such as magicians, clowns
  • Beauty, hairdressing and pampering
  • Bingo or quiz nights
  • Movie Night
Cook Nights

They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home and nowhere is this more apparent than in the RMHA kitchen. Preparing a dinner for our families can be very rewarding for our volunteers and it is greatly appreciated by our emotionally exhausted families. We run cook nights twice a week in two of our facilities.

Heat and Eat

For our families who are with their child on the ward around the clock, we aim to have frozen meals available which they can heat them up in our Family Room kitchen (located inside the National Children's Hospital, only seconds away from their child). This gives our families the flexibility of eating a meal when they choose to without losing precious time preparing it. We are always looking for volunteer groups to come in and prepare these freezer meals.

Working Bee Days

There is always something that needs doing and our Working Bee Days range from painting rooms, gardening, cleaning and tidying up the grounds.
